70mm diameter valved system for Supercharged V6
This 70mm bore system allows optimum power and torque to be achieved AND gives THE most amazing exhaust note!
The factory system weighs 15.7Kgs. When the exhaust valve (the Engine Protection Valve) is "open", the gases are guided through the 63.5mm perforated section - waaaaay too small for a +350bhp motor.
The 2bular system weighs 13Kgs. I designed it for a "Road" car. With the valve CLOSED, the exhaust gases are fed through a 63.5mm perforated section for "quiet " operation - (same as the factory system when the exhaust valve is 'OPEN'). You won't upset your neighbours at 6am or attract unwanted attention driving through town/suburbs.
When the 2bular exhaust valve is 'OPEN', the exhaust gases are guided through the 70mm diameter plain pipe in the silencer - there is no silencing effect at all. The sound cannot be replicated accurately on the internet/youtube. That big 70mm bore helps it to scream/wail as only an open-exhaust V6 motor can - it's very special and I'm well-pleased as I thought the factory exhaust sound was good enough.
THIS IS NOT A TRACK EXHAUST. Apart from it being too NOISY, if some idiot aftermarket supplier (yes, there are a couple I can think of) offer you a switch to keep the exhaust valve closed, ask for a written guarantee that it won't damage the valve or your exhaust.
I think the OEM trapezoidal tip is hideous. Only 2bular offer 100mm diameter tailpipes - no way do I use the 2ZZ oval tip!
