Evora 400/410 70mm TRACK SYSTEM
Owners of these cars cannot enjoy them on UK tracks at the moment because their factory systems are just too damned LOUD for our sensitive ears these days.
This 2bular system for the UK tracks has a significantly larger silencer than the Overseas version. It weighs 11.4Kgs - (Overseas version - 8.6Kgs) which I'm very annoyed about but you're going to need a large silencer to help meet some of these db limits. With STRAIGHT-THRU PIPEWORK and 4 internal chambers - it's a tricky time-consuming build - things usually are when you're designing solutions which
a/. WORKS - IT'S QUIETER THAN FACTORY BUT DOESN'T LOSE ANY POWER.
b/. DOESN'T NEED RE-PACKING AFTER A COUPLE OF TRACKDAYS!
c/. SAVES WEIGHT OVER THE FACTORY SYSTEM.
I fabricate an adaptor pipe to fit to the 3"dia bend as it comes through the subframe. You use the factory clamp to seal/join the two pipes as per the factory set-up. 3"dia is TOO BIG A BORE FOR THIS INSTALL and I reduce it to the well-proven 70mm 2bular system. There is NO LOSS of power.
Twin 100m diameter Carbon tailpipes fill the diffuser perfectly.
I will be supplying add-on tailpipe silencers which brought the smaller/lighter Overseas version down to 98dbs at Goodwood. Update on this larger UK version shortly. For me, this is a good solution, no point in reducing the db's when you don't have to. TLF snowflakes can't handle springs to hold these (although the rest of the World managed fine), so these will be clamped on ;-)
